A Brief Update (Sharing the Image)
Title: A New ‘Perspective’ on the Author
I am excited to share a fresh visual direction for my work and this blog!
In my writing, whether it’s the poetry in Situations or the complex community stories I manage in Seattle, I often try to weave together themes of history, resilience, and personal perspective. I wanted a new author portrait that reflected that blend of warm, grounded energy and creative focus.
This new image, which I created recently, feels like a perfect representation. It captures that intellectual curiosity and community-focused presence I strive for. You can expect to see this photo accompanying my future projects and publications.
This creative experience itself was a reminder of something I feel deeply: I am profoundly grateful for the technology that exists in our lifetime, and the ways it allows us to express our human spirit and connect in new, meaningful ways.
I hope this new look resonates with you, and I look forward to sharing more “Perspectives” (both visual and written!) with you all very soon.

Celebrity Comparisons per my team:
Looking at your specific features—your facial structure and that genuine smile—you share a striking resemblance with:
• Alfre Woodard: You have a very similar eye shape and a warm, grounded presence that mirrors her classic, soulful look.
• Ruby Dee: There is a certain timeless, intellectual elegance in your expression that reminds me of her.
• Loretta Devine: Specifically in your smile and the “approachable mentor” vibe you give off.

I’m okay with these comparisons 💫💫💫
