He was a little boy

Growing up in the south

He became a little man

Not knowing life throughout

He made a lot of friends

Who were his betters in the ends

He could only play his role

Never tell what he was told

Although he had the skin

He never was really “in”

He was never their friend

He resented his place

And showed his true face

He betrayed them in the end

Then begged them in the end

Died alone without them in the end.
