(Wonderland) This morning I woke up in Wonderland. I had been trying to deny this for a year but at last Wonderland is truly all around me. Now that I am about to leave Wonderland has exposed herself fully to me. I ate a bowl of cherries from Sam’s Club and sat down to check emails, etc… when I decide to search “Mad” in the search window. The first suggestion is “The Madness” Limited Series, Pilot: Ep.1 “On a solo trip to the Poconos, writer and pundit Muncie Daniels meets a mysterious new neighbor – then finds him dead under shocking circumstances.”
Well, I had to review this because it seems so weird from jump. It starts with a flash forward, then Deon Cole appears on screen. Then the main character disrespects a Black American woman in a live newscast – in fact on CNN, these scenes comes fast and furious with no explanation…Next everything slows down as the main character is in the “country” going to a house that we never see the decor of. I look at it all and I think why would a single man ever expose himself to any of this? He has no wife, no apparent family who loves him. It’s just very weird all the way around. I really woke up in wonderland where even the series called The Madness is really maddening…

Now the show picks up in earnest! Lots of running. Lots of shooting. This actor never shuts his mouth. I think he’s a mouth breather. Every other actor can manage to not let their mouth hang open for flies and bees to enter but not this guy…anyway.

Yes, there is a fight scene, and yes, Muncie wins but you knew that right? Next scene he is waking up in the forest. That’s right. Killers after him and he takes a nap. He gets to a road and hoofs it into town and he is in bad shape. In the Poconos, which is upstate New York and if I remember correctly, Jewish vacation spot.
Okay, it’s a great story! I am hooked! Thank you Netflix!
