Deep waters
Gray and cold
Sharks
Pelicans
Catfish
No Bass
No Carps
You are there
Lying underneath
Sprawled across the rocks
For the crabs to pick and eat
But this is nothing of what you did to me
From Baytown to Mexico
Cursing all these streets
You are the reason
Children wail in their sleep
You are the reason
Demons and Ghosts scream and screech
Still your kin
Retrieved your flesh to dry and eat
To intake your power
That wasn’t theirs to keep
You tried to save your soul
But God said no
You tried to stay alive
But the Shears said go
Into the veins, cells, and throats
Of all your descendants who dared to chase the goat
So as above so below
Still in the Texas City Dyke your curses still float
Yet every night you stand
At your daughters feet
Staring down at her
As she tries to sleep
You stare in every night at her jaded heart
She has no right to live on the street Beldart
It is fine she was never smart…

Reap what you sow
Remember what every farmer knows
Whatever you plant and cultivate
What you do everyday
Grows.
