The Pledge
I know that I am never alone but an unseen holy, righteous spirit is with me. I will not fear the most difficult times of my life because at those times I know I am being carried. I will not heed the words of the tempter because I am in the arms of eternal, incomparable power that cares for me. I will trust in that power and accept comfort, peace, love, and safety.
I refuse the vanity of pity, self-hatred, and self-degradation in all their forms and formats. I do not need their help or any other crutches. My faith is firm and steadfast in the love that adores me – Elohim.

Birdie.

As a Black American lady I have realized something: I have never NOT been carried by Elohim!! Every moment of my life even in utero has been fraught with danger and the most strident challenges on the planet. No female with similar brilliance, creativity, and fortitude have been treated so inhumanely by every other kind of human including her own counterpoint as the Black American lady – thus Elohim has always “carried” us and our feet has NEVER touched earth at all. Selah.
