National Shamu The Whale Day

I can’t say anything but this day reminds me of the cruelty of humans. National Shamu the Whale Day reminds me of the cruelty of nature. Earth is a very cruel place. From the amoebas to the well, everything, Earth is a hostile environment. I listen to TikTok and I see creators warning viewers to take care of themselves. I see Black Twitter talking endlessly about racism, money, and violence. The YouTube algorithm suggests countless uploads from White creators discussing everything, and anything EXCEPT White culture, and I mean everything… If your community is in power, why is it that the Earth is not a better place?

There is a responsibility that is being neglected. Then I think, the reason nothing is being done is because the ones who really are in power are not the ones we see. I remember Shamu. I was in the second grade on a field trip to SeaWorld. I asked the whale to splash my teacher and it did. I was amazed yet horrified. I saw the whales, the dolphins, the employees… you know who I never saw? The Board of Directors, the CEO of SeaWorld, the park owner of SeaWorld – I never saw them or their families.

I thought the trainers and the other staff were in power, in control… when BlackFish came out I still blamed the trainers and the other staff. It’s a mistake. Just like blaming White people for what is happening all over the world. The ones who are pulling the trainers and staff strings are not seen.

  • The Queen of England, Elizabeth II
  • King Charles
  • President Biden
  • Vladimir Putin
  • Donald Trump
  • Kamala Harris

All the other trainers and staff that we see…they are not the ones who have true power. Shamu The Whale reminds me of this. The owners and board members are never seen. We don’t know their names, ranks, or serial numbers… when a trainer is killed or maimed the owners and board members go on. When one whale rakes or kills another whale the owners and board members do not come forward to put a stop to this violence. The owners and board members do not innovate or become progressive… something has happened that we do not see… Is anyone steering this “ship” anymore?

All the mistakes that have been made…those “bills” must be paid. What is done every day to Black Native Americans…those “bills” must be paid. What is done to children of every nationality on this Earth…those “bills” must be paid. Some refuse to pay, don’t they? However, even when you refuse to pay in every way….it’s your mistake… you will pay with interest and penalties… and even that is on purpose.

Why do I say that?

Earth is a cruel place.

Earth does not play.

Earth won’t be escaped.

Her animals tell you your fate.

Her insects tell you your fate.

Her raptors tell you your fate.

You can break yourself but you won’t escape.

======

Earth has seen many versions of humans, different various kinds and none of them has defeated her. Even in a nuclear detonation that is imminent now, Earth will go on. Humans and various other versions of creation may stop or just evolve? Think about it… you know that the gods and goddesses of legend came to various breaking points and sought to annihilate life. Sure! They did!

Yet, look at us… here we are again…

Maybe we will never learn. Maybe we are never meant to. Maybe it’s about love and not intellect. Think of it… what does the bacterium do? It follows the “coding” of its DNA. What does the worm become? What is laid out in its cell structure? Of course. What about humans? Don’t we have a purpose? Don’t we have a “path” for our life?

Of course, we do! Then there are life forms that seek to block us from fulfilling our “path”… predators, parasites… we like to label these things as bad yet isn’t that their “path”? The path of the predator is to be a predator. The path of the parasite is to be a parasite. They are accomplishing their purpose.

Ah, Earth…

“I have conquered the World…”

“For everything, there is a season…”

“You can’t escape your fate…”

“Enjoy your life…”

“Love conquers all…”

“Love does not fail…”

“Nothing lasts forever…”

================

I am thankful for National Shamu The Whale Day, it’s a gentle reminder of who I am, what I am, and where I am in my own timeline.

What about you? Are you a parasite, a predator? What motivates you love or cruelty? What about the other living things in your environment? Do they coexist with you in peace or in toxicity? Do you live in harmony with other living things in your environment?

What makes you “think”? Life and living things or Death and dead things? Or, do you have a balance in your life? Is there balance in your environment?

Let me know in the comments below… or not…

Happy Birthday to you Shamu – I have learned many things from you. I bless the soul that is Tillikum too. If you have read this far and commented I bless you too.
