TITLE: THE PROPHETESS OF THE SECOND RISING
CHARACTERS
- MS. COLETHA: A visionary prophetess, digital creator, and author living in the Pacific Northwest.
- PASTOR EMANUEL: A charismatic Cameroonian diplomatic envoy and leader of the Continental Resettlement Commission.
- ALEX: Ms. Coletha’s tech-savvy, perpetually skeptical digital assistant.
ACT I: THE UNHEEDED SOUNDING OF THE TRUMPET
INT. MS. COLETHA’S STUDIO – NIGHT
Soft ring-light illumination washes over MS. COLETHA as she sits before her camera setup, recording equipment active. On screen, her daily blog—Perspectives—has a drafted post titled: “WARNING: Cruise Ships, Glowing Canopies, and the European Invasion.”
MS. COLETHA
(Speaking with calm, resolute authority into the microphone)
I am telling you, open your eyes. They aren’t coming by stealth aircraft or deep-sea submersibles. They are coming in the cargo holds of luxury ocean liners docking along the Atlantic. Glowing, bio-mutated Norwegian tree rats carrying a spore that will leave the cities silent. Listen before the ports open.
She hits PUBLISH.
INT. MS. COLETHA’S LIVING ROOM – DAYS LATER (MONTAGUE)
A montage of digital apathy:
- YouTube comment section scrolling: “Is this a new fiction book drop?”, “Nice sci-fi concept!”, “Check out my channel!”
- News broadcasts playing silently in the background showing glamorous footage of European cruise ships docking at American ports, tourists disembarking under bright confetti.
Ms. Coletha watches from her window as high above in the trees, faint, iridescent green eyes glow amidst the dark pine branches. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
ACT II: THE SILENT FALL & THE NEW TRIPLE ALLIANCE
EXT. PACIFIC NORTHWEST FOREST – MONTHS LATER
Silence covers the continent. The glowing horde moved rapidly through the canopy, depopulating the nation as foretold. The cities stand intact but empty, reclaimed by quiet mist.
From the north and south, armored logistical convoys bearing the joint flags of Mexico, Canada, and Cameroon move peacefully along the coastal highways.
A fleet of relief utility vehicles painted in yellow, red, and green with a central gold star pulls into Ms. Coletha’s town square.
ACT III: TO BE HEARD AT LAST
INT. COMMUNITY CULTURAL CENTER – SEATTLE OUTSKIRTS – DAY
A warmth fills the room. Traditional Cameroonian Toghu fabrics with bold pattern embroidery drape the hall alongside Northwest cedar artwork. Vibrant sounds of Makossa rhythm play softly through speakers.
PASTOR EMANUEL, dressed in an immaculate Toghu robe, stands before a gathering of council leaders, Canadian peacekeepers, and Mexican engineers.
PASTOR EMANUEL
(Addressing the hall)
When the world fell silent, we looked to the airwaves for survivors, but more importantly, we looked for guidance. And we found a voice recorded in digital stone—a voice that spoke truth before the tide came in.
He turns to face Ms. Coletha, who sits in an honored place at the head table.
PASTOR EMANUEL (CONT’D)
Ms. Coletha, your words were not ignored in Yaoundé or Douala. We translated your broadcasts. We studied your warnings. Your wisdom gave us the blueprint to protect our borders and navigate this new dawn safely.
The room erupts into warm, respectful applause.
ACT IV: EMPOWERMENT AND HERITAGE
INT. CULTURAL KITCHEN & STUDY – EVENING
Ms. Coletha stands alongside local elders and Cameroonian cultural ambassadors, surrounding a table filled with steaming dishes—Ndolé, plantains, and rich peanut stews.
ELDER AMINATA
(Smiling warmly, placing a hand on Ms. Coletha’s shoulder)
In our culture, a prophetess is not just someone who sees the future—she is a pillar of the community who carries the soul of the people.
Elder Aminata gently places a beautifully tailored Toghu shawl around Ms. Coletha’s shoulders.
MS. COLETHA
(Looking around the room at the thriving, peaceful community)
For so long, I spoke into the wind. I called out to a nation that was too loud to hear.
PASTOR EMANUEL
(Walking over, smiling)
And now, Sister Coletha, a whole continent is listening.
Ms. Coletha steps over to her workstation, where her YouTube stream is live once again. Millions of viewers across Canada, Mexico, and Cameroon are tuned in.
MS. COLETHA
(To the camera, confident and centered)
Ndefru—welcome back, everyone. Today, we talk about resilience, faith, and the strength of finding unity across oceans.
She turns to laugh and converse with Elder Aminata in Fluent Ewondo phrases, fully embraced, completely understood, and honored at last.
FADE OUT.
….
Author’s notes:
The first sighting was hideous. Hairless and white and the smell; the most horrible rotting smell of death and decay. Except these things were alive. Writhing, scampering away from like scurrying under things madly. They were hunched over and mail formed. We did our best to kill them but they were resilient. How are these things still alive? It was a nightmare come to life. With the homeless population swelling beyond belief these things began to sleep within this population. Then Cyril died on the streets but he wasn’t alone. The rats were there and they fed on his carcass. They were still sick and fumbling but now they decided that human was the new food living or dead. They felt stronger, hopeful in truth they only infected all of the USA with radioactive rabies.
Who knew that lack of care for your fellow man would take down the country? Oh yes, that’s right- They were warned.
