Do you have a secret?

Do you have a friend who treats you differently in front of different people?

Do you have a friend who you can’t tell anyone about?

Do you have a friend you hide from your other friends?

Can you go on sleepovers with your friends but they can’t sleepover at your house?

Have you been threatened or beaten because you told the truth?

Do you have a secret?

Do you have a story that you can’t tell me?

Does your friends tell you to lie to your parents or teachers?

Does your friends tell you to skip school, drink beer, smoke cigarettes behind your parents back?

Can your parents go through your cell phone?

Can your parents go through your back pack?

If someone gives you drugs, liquor or pot do you give it to your parents immediately?

Do you hide things from your parents because they would freak out?

Well, it’s time for them to freak out.

Let them handle it how they need to handle it.

Trust them to protect you.

They may be disappointed in who all is involved but tell them the whole truth.

My family members had secrets, lots of them…

I had an idea.

But they didn’t tell me.

They didn’t trust me.

They didn’t love me enough to tell me the truth.

So, I looked the other way.

They didn’t tell me.

So, why should I know?

So, why should I try to deal with something they lied about?

I refused to be a detective in my own home.

I decided to mind my own business which was enough for me.

If you keep secrets, I am going to look the other way.

There is no crystal balls in my life.

I used to worry about secrets.

Then I realized, if I am not keeping secrets and I am telling the truth.

But you choose to keep secrets from me then that is what you choose.

I choose to stay away from you.

I hope you make the same choice for those who keep secrets from you.
