(Earth) I woke up relieved. Why? It’s a week away from Christmas 2024 and everywhere I turn lives are imploding and exploding. So many people’s whole world depends on the innovation and bodies of other people and their children. Why am I relieved? Well, I have been hearing about Armageddon my whole life! I thought 9/11 was it – it wasn’t. I thought Covid-19 was it – it wasn’t. We have had wars and reports of wars but the end is not yet.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (Matthew 24:6)
So, I worked out. I ordered my coffee. I washed up. Then I went to work. Why? Because the end is not yet no matter what is going on. Yesterday, I prayed for someone having a medical emergency, I was cursed out by a huge, unfortunate looking woman because I said good morning to her, then last night I opened bible study with a prayer. I feel like all the demons are out in force and clearly showing their face. Or perhaps, these are the true faces of humans – what we think are demons are really just basic human nature and that’s why Satan said we would curse GOD ALLMIGHTY to HIS face if HE ever stops blessing us…
Am I getting too deep? Yes, I know and that’s why I now have Netflix on deck!
This movie is set at SeaTac Airport. An airport I am totally used to. The last time I was there construction was in process. The actors cast as airport workers…no way! Look at these actors! There are in awesome shape and attractive looking! Not in Seattle – I have to tell you! This isn’t real life and we are looking at this to get away from reality. Right? Right!

A mysterious traveler blackmails a young TSA agent into letting a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Eve flight.
All I am looking at is the typography and scenery of Seattle to see if I can see anything remotely familiar… IMDB focues on the mysterious traveler. As an applicant for TSA, having gone through the whole process of being screened, going through medical, and turning it down as I had to go to another state’s airport for training… I am totally interested in this movie for sure.
As I look at the movie I am psyched by this story…SeaTac is small enough that a movie like this could happen in real life. What sells the point is the mysterious traveler played by Jason Bateman. In a Disney movie the bad guy would look like Brad Pitt not Jason Bateman. Jason is really average looking and appears harmless if not a bit clueless. Jason Bateman is a “Yes Dear” kind of husband right? His wife would do all the heavy lifting – you know the type.
Anyway, I would just hit the panic button as TSA is trained to do and alert the proper authorities then I am out.
Does this story go this way? Nope.
He calls 911 but has to hang up because his girl friend was threatened.
The mysterious traveler is in his ear, telling him what to do, how to do it and when. It’s creepy really. I am likely biased because I used to live in Washington State but I am trying to watch without a filter.
…it’s hard because you know I was at my desk with the twin towers fell in NY. (I am working through my trauma, still.) The moment when Ethan took out the ear bud! That’s my favorite moment. I love it when you make a difficult choice but it’s the right one.
So, you’re just walking away?
Then the tables turn:

My thought: Somebody has to save the day, this dumb guy doesn’t look like he will.
Okay here is an editing issue: When the movie first started they said they were at SeTac Airport but the TSA employee badge says LAX which is Los Angeles, California.
Several fight scenes later…the story is really moving along. The mysterious stranger is very violent and kills everyone who tries to stop him from being in restricted areas. I have been to LAX but only went where I was supposed to go. They even confiscated my Dr. Palmer’s cocoa butter lotion and would not return it to me.
The mysterious stranger shoots Ethan to get the bomb case back. Ethan looks so bad but he still wants to save his fiancee, Norah. The traveler gives the order to kill Norah. “Copy That” was the only response. Ethan gives us the case and disappears. LAX and LAPD want to shut down the airport however, the top guy will not approve this action unless he hears from Homeland Security.
The good news is Norah is a fighter. Before the hit man can take him out another hostage takes him out and I am crying with relief. It’s Jesse. Mateo Flores is gone sadly. He did everything he did to save Jesse and he lost his life trying to do that. This is such a suspenseful time in this movie! I am hoping for a happy ending however this is not a Disney movie. Cut to the traveler on board on the plane. The case has already been flagged. All bags are scanned. Our hero knows how to diffuse the bomb because he did it before. So, he is on his way to do just that but the plane WILL take off!
Our hero is on his way to the bomb. Meanwhile, the plane is about to take off and our hero, former trackstar is on the tarmac to the plane to diffuse that bomb. I hope he makes it. Ethan Kopeck is on his way to disarm the bomb, he has to get on that plane. It’s the only way…
“Tower, allow 0610 to take off. You heard me.”
Now everything is on Ethan Kopeck to disarm this bomb and save his own life and everyone on this plane. Can he do it?
The traveler gets a notification that he can only set off the bomb manually. He knows it’s Ethan. He shoots Ethan again.
The plane is returning to LAX as the pilots received a notification. There is dialog between the two prime characters. The traveler gets outfoxed by Ethan, the loser, the waist who is asleep. The traveler is down as the plane lands back at LAX.
Ethan surrenders to authorities:
Passengers are deboarded and Norah is there and I am crying with relief. “I knew you could do it.”, says Norah. The response from Ethan, “I love you.”
Cut to Ethan with his and Norah’s baby. This is a truly happy ending, Ethan is now a LAPD Officer – he left TSA.
I give this movie 10/10… great story. So crazy it’s likely based on true events:
An airport security officer races to outsmart a mysterious traveler forcing him to let a dangerous item slip onto a Christmas Eve flight.
