In my sleep
The Herder drove me
The Herder gave me no peace
The Herder never tended to me
The Herder made me lean and mean
The Herder sees me as a commodity
The Herder despises every side of me
The Herder despises the soul of me
The Herder makes the path to my death
Easy for me
The Herder leads me to my death by depriving me
The Herder deprives me of love
The Herder deprives me of humanity
The Herder deprives me of dignity
The Herder deprives me of integrity
The Herder degrades and defiles me
And calls it divinity
While
The Shepherd comforts me
The Shepherd covers me
The Shepherd protects me
The Shepherd guides me lovingly
The Shepherd deserves my loyalty
The Shepherd understands me
The Shepherd embraces me
The Shepherd cares for me
The Shepherd allows me to care for him too
I don’t know you but I understand me
My soul chooses the Shepherd over the Herder eternally.
