When you didn’t know

I carried you

When you didn’t understand

I carried you

When you shirked my hand

I carried you

I carried you

When they wanted to rob you

I carried you

When they planned to destroy you

I carried you

When they plotted on you

I carried you

I carry you now

Though they are all dead

I carry you

As you lay down your sweet head

I carry you

While you dream at night

I carry you

Through courage and fright

You are never alone

You need never fear

When you call out for me

I am already near.
