Da da, da da, ah, ho-oo-oh-oo
Fearless people careless needle
Harsh words spoken and lives are broken
Forceful aging help me I’m fading
Heaven’s waiting it’s time to move on
Crossing that bridge with lessons I’ve learned
Playing with fire and not getting burned
I may not know what you’re going through
But time is the space between me and you
Life carries on, ooh
It goes on
Just say die and that would be pessimistic
In your mind we can walk across the water
Please don’t cry it’s just a prayer for the dying
I just don’t know what’s got into me
Been crossing that bridge with lessons I’ve learned (learned)
Playing with fire and not getting burned (burned)
I may not know what you’re going through
But time is the space between me and you
There is a light through that window
Hold on say yes while people say no
Life carries on, on, on, on, ooh
It goes on, oh-ee-oh, whoa-ee-oh, ho, oh
I’m crossing that bridge with lessons (I’ve learned)
I’m playing with fire and not getting burned (burned)
I may not know what you’re going through
But time is the space between me and you
There is a light through that window
Hold on say yes while people say no
‘Cause life carries on oh-ee-oh, whoa-ee-oh ho on
It goes on, oh-ee-on, it goes on
Whoah, whoah, life carries on
When nothing else matters
When nothing else matters
I just don’t know what’s got into me
It’s just a prayer for the dying
For the dying

Prayer for the Dying lyrics Β© Peermusic Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group
The river flows down to the ocean
The ocean waters rise as fog in the morning
The ocean waters rise as humidity all the day long
The vapors become clouds that shield us and burst into thunder storms above us
Some clouds are blown over mountain tops are frozen into specs of ice wrapped around dust particles
Each one unique with patterns of its own that fall onto hills, mountains and valleys as snow
As the temperatures rise the snowfall melts into elongated icicles melting slowly
Collecting into lakes and streams to flow over waterfalls crashing into
Many Rivers.
Collecting into lakes and streams to flow over waterfalls crashing into
Many Rivers of love and life always passing by yet never caught
Even river water in plastic bottles evaporate to collect in the sky and fall like rain unto Rivers.
Collecting into lakes and streams to flow over waterfalls crashing into
Many Rivers which are usually the tears of all the Mothers who have wept for their sons and daughters and daughters and sons
In the kitchen, in the car, on the way to work, sitting in the bath, standing in the shower, washing the dishes, washing the clothes, coming home from work, in waiting rooms, waiting in lines…
Flowing through the rivers of life as we change, and change and begin over and over again.
This poem is inspired by River Phoenix. I feel like he would be okay with this posting. A lot of people are going before 2023 is over. Some of these folks you know. It may even be you Dear Reader. It may be me. What I want to say is: No matter what- LIVE each moment you have here. See what there is to see all around you. Smell the air. Taste your water. Look into your own eyes and glimpse your soul. Who is really in there inside of you? Drugs numb your senses don’t they? They take you far away right? Maybe you are supposed to be here and not far away. If you are absent from the body who is guarding your temple? No one, that’s when the thieves come in and ravage the temple in every way possible. You are the Guardian of your soul. You are the Watcher who protects your temple. Your body is your vehicle that takes you to see all the beautiful wonders of this world and it’s majesty. Don’t let ANYONE disrespect your vehicle, that means you too. Keep it clean and well maintained – it will take you to the Himalayas, through Cameroon, and to the middle of the oceans! I will join you there!

There will always be people, places and things that want something from you, even your very soul. You have the power to say no. Besides, you are a person, place and/or a thing! What do you want today, right now, this second? Does that something lie within yourself or do you need it from someone or something else??
This life is interesting if nothing else!
