Life Beautiful: A Short Story by Coletha Albert

What does it look like? Well…

Once upon a time there was a quiet, kind girl who married into a pompous booze soaked family. The booze hounds were pillars of the community. They had many servants, cars, and livestock. Long ago the family were disciplined, moral, clever, kind, and generous so much so they expected life to reward them with ease.

Life disagreed.

Life had a job to do and she was going to do it completely. So many unfortunate incidents befell the family. The family was ashamed. What’s the point of dotting every i and crossing every t if it means nothing to Life?

Only morning as the blue birds sang in the garden outside her window the matriarch of the family did not rise with the sun to take care of her family. Under her goose down duvee’ she cowered and quaked with fear… would her heart stop? Would she be struck dumb? Would a freak storm blow up and destroy her home and everyone in it?

To her astonishment, nothing happened. The blue birds continued to sing. A gentle breeze lifted her window coverings… and what was in the matriarch began to come out… none of the actions of her heart and mind were good, decent, nor pure.

Life smiled with satisfaction. Life’s job is to remove the paint, tile, varnish, and other coverings that humans construct to mask the stains, holes, and shoddy work of their souls. Life’s job is to reveal whatever there is underneath all that linoleum. With this family, Life was not impressed by their window coverings, nor their chandeliers.

Life showed the entire city that this family were nothing more than stuffed coats and knocked off sun dresses. All of their piety was a Keller Williams modular home that could not withstand the storms of Life. The family’s foundation was none existing. Everything they had was based on lies, deceptions, and more lies.

Life enjoyed destroying every mirror, blowing away all the smoke. Even the blue birds were shocked at the shear amount of lies, thievery, and more lies the family heaped upon itself. Painfully, Life stripped it all away via storm, pestilence, and bounty. Yes, Life employs the greatest destroyer of the vain and wicked: Bounty

People think that lack and famine destroys communities. Life knows better. Life knows that bounty, wealth, and opulence forces whatever lies beneath hidden in the flesh to come forth. It’s always the same.

When a good, chaste soul is blessed they bless others. When an evil, immoral soul is blessed they use those blessings to curse and destroy as many others as they can. Curiously, the evil only catch and destroy the evil usually “impaled” by one of their own evil cohorts that they trust in the most.

Life is very clever that way.

Moral: The purpose of Life is to expose weakness, lies, pride, and deception as well as purity, strength, power, and humility. Life is Beautiful.

What happened to the matriarch and the girl? What do you think? Leave it down in the comments below…

The tree is in the seed.

If I have to lie to you, I refuse to be around you.

Everyone does not play the fool sometimes.

Since you lied on me, you can’t be around me.

Because you are a mad dog, you have to be put down.

We have no more circuses, so we fired all the clowns.

Monday is actually Yeshua coming out of Sheol with the keys to Death and Hades in hand. Not Sunday. Let everyone with ears hear the truth today.

Live, Grow, Learn.
