Pandemic Poem 1919, 2020

And people stayed at home

And read books

And listened

And rested

And exercised

And created art

And got into Yoga

And ordered from Amazon

And ordered through Door Dash

And ordered through Uber

And ordered through Post Mates

And avoided touching others

And listened as

Some prayed and others meditated

Some fought and others made babies

Many lived on social media

Others marched and protested

George Floyd was murdered live and in color

The revolution was televised and right before our eyes

Earth has said all Whites must die

Instead of hugging, loving with dignity and pride

Whites are murdering and being murdered sakes alive

And people began to think differently

And people healed

And in the absence of people who

Lived in desperate ways

Dangerous, meaningless and heartless,

The Earth began to heal

Now that the danger is gone

People found each other and themselves

They grieved for the dead

And made new choices

And dreamed of new visions

And created better ways of living

And completely healed the Earth

Then love, compassion, truth, justice, gratitude, humility, and liberty encompassed the entire world

And Earth took Her rightful place in the Universe.
