Poem by Coletha Albert: Little Peepi Bow

Little Peepi Bow

Lost her best sheep

Don’t you know?

Photo by Jeremy Wong on Pexels.com

She beat her sheep

She lied on her sheep

Now her sheep left

Don’t you know?

She took her sheep’s coat

She beat her sheep’s sheep

She did a lot of dirt

And forgot to weep

She ran her sheep

To and Fro

She stole from her sheep

Don’t you know?

Now her sheep don’t know her

Her sheep won’t keep her

Her sheep has naught for her

Her sheep are long gone from her

It’s what she always wanted

Don’t you know?

This was the dream of Little Peepi Bow

She finally left them alone

So they found real homes

With true love and friends

Don’t you know?

And now…

Little Peepi Bow

Is now

Big Pepe Beau

Didn’t you know?

Sakes alive

Peep had to hide

Her truth the world

Couldn’t abide

So come close and hear

Light a candle My Dear

For all of the Beau Pepe’s still hiding…
