The Mist – Review with Spoilers

There was something in the mist that attacked a small town. There’s a religious fanatic stuck in a small grocer with other townies and out of townies. It’s nerve wracking until you actually see what was in the mist. Then there are other things in the mist. Flyers, crawlers still the religious fanatic spews Armageddon like prophesies. She, of course it’s a woman, keeps saying “I told you!”

She believes she is a psychic and slowly others begin to follow her prophesies and encourage her to keep proselytizing. Ugh. It’s so true to what is happening in America since George Floyd was murdered in cold blood, in bold daylight by a creature that was all demon and zero humane. There was abject cruelty in the blazing light of day. We looked into the face of evil. We saw the empty, soulless eyes staring blindly into the pits of hell during a global pandemic. We saw pure Evil and what Evil was capable of. We saw that it had no sense of remorse.

This was no military experiment gone awry.

Yet in The Mist, the military was experimenting with dimensions. The scientists are always experimenting. “We are being punished for walking on the moon, stem cells, abortions, destroying the secrets of life…”, declares the religious fanatic. Most of the people agree with her…

So, what is happening in our world today?

Is there some experiment that has connected us to another reality. Is that why we have Space Force? Is that why Americans are going missing in national parks, out of their campers, so many soldiers are just gone? Has our world been merged with another?

While driving from Washington state; I drove through state after state after state. Do you know what I saw? Nothing and no one. In some states after dark I ran into a thing driving a camper that didn’t look human. It kept trying to catch my eyes as I glanced over to pass him on the freeway.

What I was reminded of is even though I have a reservation, do not drive at night. If sundown is approaching get off the freeway. Find a Choice Hotel and go to your room and stay in it. The things that go on after dark in America – you don’t need to know.

Meanwhile, in the movie The Mist, the religious fanatics want to feed a young boy to the thing in The Mist and the grocer kills her. Oh yes, he has a gun and he ain’t afraid to use it!

I must admit I feel relieved to know that she is gone finally. There is no cure for religious insanity. It’s the stuff that cults are made off and cults are always in some iteration. They never stop.

I don’t know how The Mist will end as I am still watching it. It is the stuff of every cult member I have ever known has described…Armageddon… the great punishment from God to destroy the wicked and save the righteous, obedient followers.

Maybe it’s true.

Maybe it’s not.

Maybe this IS the paradise long prophesied.

Maybe we are in the thousand years where there is no demons or devils.

Maybe we are in the world run by heaven.

Maybe we ARE in heaven and this is it.

How would that be?

George Floyd was murdered in broad daylight in heaven.

What if that is the truth?

This is The Mist effect. It’s so real. It’s so surreal. It could absolutely be a dream come true. We are living in “crazy” times. We don’t know what to expect. We were just going about our lives and something came for us in the very air that we breathed. We didn’t know what it was. We just knew people were dying. You couldn’t shoot it. There was no medicine for it.

I watch the people in the movie and I can’t help but see the similarities of everyday people I have witnessed over the last two and a half years. The United States is a huge place. We don’t know what is going on neighborhood to neighborhood must less county to county. That alone is frightening. While I have traveled here and there so many people I know have never left their own city. They believe evil will befall them if they leave the ground they were born on. So many rituals and superstitions among us humans. Too many.

The Mist reminds me of stories I have heard where people just evaporated without a trace and the land is haunted… Those of us still here in the world watching movies and games made for us don’t know what is happening on another continent, in the middle of the ocean, at the bottom of Lake Lanier…

The Mist reminds me that we really don’t know anything. We don’t know what our neighbors are doing though they share walls and pipes with us. That’s why some of us reach out to spiritual beings. There has to be something more than us out there somewhere.

Then again, maybe there is nothing else out here, just The Mist and it’s everywhere; omnipresent.

So what’s left… 4 bullets, 1 gun, 4 adults and 1 child. No prayers. No songs. 4 shots ring out, only David is left. He gets out of the jeep and the wind begins to blow. The mist is blown away and all that is in it. David is left standing alone as the mist clears.

Just kidding… the military arrives, our sons, daughters, husbands, and wives… David falls to his knees.

Oh, Ye of little faith… smh… That is our saving grace, FAITH. We all seem lost we keep the faith anyway.

The Mist is another Stephen King joint. #ColdCockedChill

Stephen King’s words have been in my life for 40 years. The theme of all his words to me is “Keep holding on, take no short cuts, KEEP GOING.” Elohim bless Stephen King and his whole family. Selah.
