Letter to the Over Achiever yet Infinitely Under Valued:
Dear Hard Worker,
Congratulations on your promotion today! What awesome news! I live in a beautiful city. I was online searching for best countries for American Black Ladies and came across your news. I think it’s wonderful for you. I wish you every success without oppression and jealousy from others wholeheartedly. My reality: “We are giving you a raise effective June 21st but this does not change the fact that we can fire you at-will and without a reason.”

It’s the giving Will Smith his Oscar but then banning him from the Oscars for 10 years. That’s the real slap.

Long story short: I am weary of Black Americans being the energy source that powers this global economy. Others really feel like they are within their rights to steal everything they can from Black People.
Thus, the reason for my search today. I don’t want to play this oppressive game anymore with this system… It seems like a threat to me even though I know it is policy with my company. I “know” it’s not “personal” for them. It’s a legal caveat. Yet, from my point of view it IS quite personal indeed. Then, I think…

On the flip side, what I loved about this message is that I can leave the company “at-will” for any reason or no reason. That’s fair!
So I smile to myself through it and act like that sentence is not an insult. Take a good, cleansing breath. I set my intention for the rest of my day to stay focused. The “path” for my life is set.

I was supposed to receive this message, at this time, in this way.
Everything is as it should be – will or no will even at will. I know that we as Black Americans have suffered long and hard to get where we are despite all we have been through.

Yet, I am leveling up. (Ciara Wilson – Mrs. Wilson if ya Nasty!) My intention is to leave this country and go help another one that actually values me and is not using my Black arse. There is no free lunch Karen, Sandy and Chuck… Do you hear me? Everyone has to pay up because nothing is free. Black people have been paying everyone’s way however from this nano second forward: Call Tyrone Bitches!

I bind all the people globally who are using Black Americans and I lose the people globally who value Black Americans sincerely and honestly. Selah.

Anyway, Congratulations on your promotion again!
Sulfuric & Infinite,
Coletha Albert
