I broke up with my Crutches

Family

Children

Miseries

Traumas

Fears

Self-imposed disabilities

I stopped “limping”

I laid the duct tape down

I stopped living a lie

I resisted the comfort of my past

I stood on my own two feet

At last.

Why?

I decided to lay my “crutches” down

They were given to me a long, long time ago

I didn’t know what I didn’t know

It’s best to walk, run, jump and fly

And fall – to learn how to stand on my own

Confidently

I am stronger for my own when I can stand on my own

I am stronger when I own rather than rent

Don’t rent another’s strength

Your strength is yours alone

Be okay alone then you are strong

I laid my “crutches” down and packed them away

I am much stronger and truly confident today

I thank my crutches for the time we shared together

But I was always whole

I was always in control

Now I understand my truth

Now I live in truth

Now I love in truth

Now I breathe in truth

Now I breathe in power

Now I laugh with true joy

Now I progress in true peace

With dignity

With integrity

I am no longer dependent on my “crutches”

I am right where I am supposed to be

Living my life as it is meant to be

Without “crutches.
