The National Football League (NFL) was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) with ten teams from four states, all of whom existed in some form as participants of regional leagues in their respective territories. The league took on its current name in 1922. The NFL was the first professional football league to successfully establish a nationwide presence, after several decades of failed attempts.[citation needed] Only two founding members, the Decatur Staleys (now the Chicago Bears) and the Chicago Cardinals (now the Arizona Cardinals), are still in the league.[1] The Green Bay Acme Packers, founded in 1919 (joined the NFL in 1921, now the Green Bay Packers) is the oldest NFL franchise with continuous operation in the same location. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_National_Football_League
Mary Mary and Youth Orchestra perform Lift Every Voice and Sing during Super Bowl LVI
Urban contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary and Youth Orchestra perform Lift Every Voice and Sing during Super Bowl LVI.
Lift every voice and sing
Till earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on till victory is won
Stony the road we trod
Bitter the chastening rod
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died
Yet with a steady beat
Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered
Out from the gloomy past
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast
God of our weary years
God of our silent tears
Thou who has brought us thus far on the way
Thou who has by Thy might Led us into the light
Keep us forever in the path, we pray
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee
Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee
Shadowed beneath Thy hand
May we forever stand
True to our God
True to our native land
Our native land

Oh beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife
Who more than self, their country loved
And mercy more than life
America, America may God thy gold refine
‘Til all success be nobleness
And every gain divined
And you know when I was in school
We used to sing it something like this, listen here
Oh beautiful, for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain
But now wait a minute, I’m talking about
America, sweet America
You know, God done shed his grace on thee
He crowned thy good, yes he did, in brotherhood
From sea to shining sea
You know, I wish I had somebody to help me sing this
(America, America, God shed his grace on thee)
America, I love you America, you see
My God he done shed his grace on thee
And you oughta love him for it
‘Cause he, he, he, he crowned thy good
He told me he would, with brotherhood
(From sea to shining Sea)
Oh Lord, oh Lord, I thank you Lord
(Shining sea)

Say, can you see
By the dawn’s eaely light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly, yeah streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave prooof through the night
That our flag was still there
Oh say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and at the home of the brave

What happened to Whitney is an American Tragedy of astronomical proportions. If you do not trust GOD but trust drugs you are doomed. So much evil was around this soul. So many times I know God tried to help her but she made her choice. Somebody fumbled the play on this one and I am so grateful that it wasn’t me. In this life you do have responsibility to the people whose lives you touch, I pray you are praying with them and not keeping them high and drunk. If you are a star reading this I pray that you keep your hand in the hand of the ONE who is the architect of your gift and your life. THAT is who you OWE everything to, including your soul.

Pregame ceremonies
Before the game, a show called “Santana and Friends” performed on the field. Carlos Santana was joined by Beyoncé and Michelle Branch and sang truncated versions of “Oye Como Va“, “The Game of Love“, and “Foo Foo.” ABC also aired a pre-game parking lot performance featuring Bonnie Raitt, Goo Goo Dolls and Michael Bublé prior to the Santana and Friends segment.[17]
In a nod to what the New England Patriots did the previous year in Super Bowl XXXVI, both teams were introduced as a team, rather than individually by offensive and defensive starters, after highlights of their seasons were simulcast on the video boards in the stadium and on television. This has become a regular tradition starting with this Super Bowl.
Celine Dion then sang “God Bless America” which is sung for the only time in the Super Bowl, and later the Dixie Chicks sang the national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner“. F/A-18 Super Hornets of the United States Navy performed a flyover.[18]
To honor the 30th anniversary of the 17–0 undefeated, perfect season of the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the following members of that team appeared during the coin toss ceremony: Don Shula, Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, Larry Little, Jim Langer, Nick Buoniconti, Paul Warfield.

Shania Twain, No Doubt, and Sting were featured during the halftime show, which was sponsored by AT&T Wireless. Twain sang her hits “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “Up!“.
No Doubt then sang their hit “Just a Girl” with lead singer Gwen Stefani ad-libbing lines like “I’m just a girl at the Super Bowl!” The show concluded with Sting performing “Message in a Bottle“, with Stefani joining in midway through.[19]
Post-game ceremonies
Bon Jovi appeared as part of the post-game ceremonies, performing “It’s My Life” prior to the Vince Lombardi Trophy presentation and “Everyday” afterwards (most of the latter performance was not shown on ABC because the network cut to commercials).
The energy of a SuperBowl is Amazing! The NFL owners may be a bunch of soggy old so and so’s but the spirits of all those players from by gone years and those yet to be born is all around you at the SuperBowl! For those who understand the significance and who remain sober you will see miracles happens on that field. I pray for them all. Hallelujah, I give Elohim the glory! AMEN.

The Weeknd’s Half time show – Now you KNOW YouTube is going to go crazy because a performer came down from the sky…Lord, have mercy…then you have a Black choir singing with red eyes… I wish the SuperBowl would not court this type of synergy… I really though Jay Z would do better now that he is over entertainment. This thing has so many moving parts. The choir members are sitting behind tombstones… who designed this set. Oh, it’s The Weeknd who is opening the show so I don’t know who it was who came from the ceiling.
Then The Weeknd leaves the front stage and is a House of Mirrors which is dumb and has nothing to do with football. Then a bunch of guys join him and are just stumbling around. It’s too much. Actually, they look like they have jock straps over their face. Is this artistic? Yawn.
There are lots of fireworks throughout this performance. So how will they end the show. The choir is now in black sequined outfits instead of white choir robes. This is taking place in the Raymond James Stadium.
Now this is something that I love: Violins. Violins have nothing to do with football but I do love them. Looks like nothing but men are in the choir. That is interesting. It is an all Black male choir. Reminds me of the Renaissance when even males played female parts. Is this the Kevin Samuels effect? Is Kevin Samuels reincarnated?
The show moves to the field with the jock strapped guys marching like Nazis back in the day. What is this “message”? Whose concept is this? They keep showing Raymond James name and as the great, great granddaughter of Birdie James, I an’t mad about it.
I see a world without women at all. I suppose this is how it always was and why the fallen angels were intrigued by the daughters of men historically. At the end of the show all the guys fall down “dead” except The Weeknd. And that is that. End of the Halftime show.

It is rumored that Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem. and Snoop Dog will perform this year – I hope they are good.

The show began with Dre and Snoop Dog. My favorites were 50Cent and Mary J. Blige because to me their performance gave life energy and balance to the show.
Secret: I only saw Mary J. Blige in concert once – in Baghdad, Iraq…shhhhh….don’t tell anyone who hasn’t read my entire post. Let’s just keep this between you and me. ;-D

“Back Stabbers”
(What they do)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
All you fellows who have someone
And you really care, yeah, yeah
Then it’s all of you fellows
Who better beware, yeah yeah
Somebody’s out to get your lady
A few of your buddies they sure look shady
Blades are long, clenched tight in their fist
Aimin’ straight at your back
And I don’t think they’ll miss
(What they do)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers (back stabbers)
I keep gettin’ all these visits
From my friends, yeah, what they doin to me
They come to my house
Again and again and again and again, yeah
So are they there to see my woman
I don’t even be home but they just keep on comin’
What can I do to get on the right track
I wish they’d take some of these knives off my back
(What they do)
(They smile in your face)
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers
(Back stabbers)
Low down, dirty
(What they do)
(They smile in your face)
Smiling faces
Smiling faces sometimes tell lies (back stabbers)
(They smile in your face)
I don’t need low down
Dirty bastards (back stabbers)
