Disappeared

She knew these people

She got vaccinated

She had taken the flu shot for years

She whispered don’t do this through her tears

The nurse held her close

The guard locked the door

The plunge of the syringe

Was all she could hear

Deep into her neck

She was marked “Disappeared”

Life went on as it did

She was no longer here.

If you ignore it – it won’t go away
