There I was at my own house
I was doing chores
I was raising my children
I was cooking
I was cleaning
I was living my life
When a knock came upon my door.
An uninvited guest
Knocked upon my door
I looked out the window
I don’t know this person
They knocked again
I opened my door because the uninvited appeared in pain
And he was
He was hurt
He was in pain
He groveled at my feet
He begged for my help
His family had cast him out
His family had abandoned him
I felt empathy
For this person
I had never been put into this type of terror
I did what I could to help
I got him some water
I gave him a mat to sleep on my porch
When my husband came home
He killed the stranger.
I phoned the police.
The police arrived then called the mortuary
The mortuary removed the body.
Moral: Men accept help from other men – never from their wives.
Moral2: A righteous man never sets foot on another man’s land without his permission.
