Ten lessons that you can learn from Gilmore Girls —

I am watching The Gilmore Girls now and am totally loving this show!

A Year in the Life: Fall S1:E4

They seem to build community, relationships and friendships so easily yet drama free! It’s how I always thought life was when I was a young person long ago when the dinosaurs roamed freely upon the Earth… sigh… those were the days!

This is the episode where Odette moves in so Rory is OUT. It’s awkward. It’s painful. It’s over. What I love about this episode is “The Guy” offered Rory a house to use in Maine off the water. Logan is the guy. Logan lives in London and is engaged to Odette from France. That’s the dynastic plan. He wants to “keep” Rory as his mistress, his pet, his concubine as long as she stays in her place. This is not what he says but this is the way it goes. She is nothing but another bauble for this man child. He doesn’t love Rory. He doesn’t love Odette. He probably doesn’t really like the ladies at all. He is simply fulfilling his duty to his family, his clan and his creed. There is nothing wrong with this but I am sorry that he doesn’t love Rory. What can I say, I believe in the fairy tale that life alone is better than a life with someone who doesn’t love you. Life is too tricky.

All types of weird things happen unabated when the power of love is missing. Relationshipwrecks are true horrors that should never be suffered by anyone, not even a character on a television series.
