Well, well, well, the new year celebration has come and gone. Most Christmas lights are down and stored and even the Kwanza candles no longer burn bright since it’s February 3rd. It’s 9:15 am and already I have witnessed a brawl between two young men over the word “y’all” being used. Yesterday afternoon a young man tried to fight an older man because a young girl chose the older man. I mean the younger guy does have some eye situation that needs to be corrected, honestly… is something in the water or the air? I would like to know…
Disagreements between men have seemed to hit a fever pitch and for no good reason at all. Are the men hypersensitive for some cosmic, universal reason or purpose? Is testosterone levels higher now thus more aggression? What is really going on…? Now I am listening to more men speak right now as I cheerfully tap away on my keyboard, giggling and chatting like grade school girls…awesome. No idea what are the causes of these differences right now . Maybe the brawlers are just having a bad day. Simple, but probably true. They woke up on the wrong side of the bed, had a nightmare last night and didn’t get much rest so they are cranky. Probably.
There is no higher meaning or sign of anything special or even tangible. Men disagree. Men stick out their chests, raise their voices and strut for little to no clear reason. Guess it is no big deal. Leave it to me to try to lift every situation a little higher… Well, in this case there is no need. It is what it is: Regular guys behaving in an average way. Period.
